HK G-36CData provided by R.J. Andron

H&K G-36C: The G-36C is an assault rifle developed off of the G-36 design. The “C” designates that this is the “Compact” or “Commando” version of the firearm.

The smaller frame, combined with the higher-powered 5.56mm NATO ammunition it fires makes the firearm popular with special operations and counter-terrorism units.

The optical sights of the G36 and G-36K versions have been replaced with iron sights, and the flash hider has been replaced with a four prong design. The front handguard has four Picatinny Rail attachment points for accessories, including optical sights, tactical lights, and handgrips.

The G-36C is in use in Germany, Poland, Malaysia, Indonesia, United States, and the United Kingdom.

H&K G-36

H&K G-36Data Provided by R.J. Andron

HK G-36: The G-36 was adopted by the German Army following the collapse of the G-11 project. The G-36 was designed as a cost-effective rifle able to fire the 5.56mm NATO ammunition required to conform to NATO standard.

The weapon uses a gas-operated rotating bolt and incorporates an integral 3x optical sight and a red-dot collimating sight.

The export version, the G-36E, is identical, but eliminates the red-dot sight and replaces the optical sight with a 1.5x version.

The G-36 is in service in Brazil, Britain, Chile, Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the United States of America.
